Ismaele

Anthropologist and environmental hiking guide. Grew up as a Poliziano resident, his studies took him to Monticchiello, to the Teatro Povero, where he rediscovered the sense of belonging and interest in the history, culture and nature of the splendid Val d’Orcia.

Accompanied by him you will have the opportunity to get to know and be amazed, explore and get excited, immersed in a land that has so much to tell.

Vivo d’Orcia on Mount Amiata is the headquarters of the Parco Vivo cooperative, a forest of beech and chestnut trees where the visitable springs of the Ermicciolo flow, a few meters from the church of the same name founded by San Romualdo in the 11th century, which will be a stop on the our trip.
A few meters from the car park, there is a picnic area equipped with braziers and numerous trekking routes suitable for all ages, totally immersed in nature.

Bagni San Filippo. Small village between the Val d’Orcia and Mount Amiata, known since ancient times for the warm thermal waters which here have created a magical landscape of white limestone formations, waterfalls and small hot tubs, where you can bathe totally immersed in nature. The free baths are located on the course of the Fosso Bianco river, where it is possible to visit the White Whale, an enormous limestone boulder which, due to its rounded shapes and typical white colour, can resemble the literary character Moby Dick, from which the first name.

The bike tour in the company of an environmental guide from the cooperatives is truly a service available to everyone, thanks to the electric bikes of the Ciclofficine del Teatro Povero. These are models for adults and children starting from 1.28 meters in height. With the assistance of our staff who will carry out the saddle, you will be able to set off to discover the most iconic Tuscan countryside, in direct contact with nature, savoring the unique smells that each season can offer.
